A lot changes in 2 or 3 months. We were all set to do the drums and had to cancel at pretty short notice. As I sat down to reflect on where to go next it was clear that I needed to pull the plug on recording indefinitely. There simply wasn't going to be the time to do even an EP justice, especially with the travelling involved in going down to Richard's. This is what God was telling me, and a lot of other stuff that was rather important (in addition to the impending arrival of a baby!!) was appearing too, I've leading a lot of worship with the youngsters which has been really enjoyable. So there we go, full CD to EP to nowt in 6 months, but although I'm disappointed, it certainly feels the right thing to do.

So what happens now? Dunno really, but whatever does happen it will be done closer to home and is unlikely to be any of the worship material, I want to save that for the time being. I have a number of ideas that might lead to some recording going on, involving local people, and probably a less serious in approach but we'll have to wait and see. I am suddenly getting a lot of ideas for non-worship songs, so we'll see.

That said, I've got a gig at Solid this year (as well as helping Concert Services with the PA) on Radio Solid on the Saturday afternoon. Heather should be joining me, as she's already there, and maybe Andy if it's worth him coming down, I'm just waiting for details on how long I've got.

I'm still here actually!

I'm not quite sure why it is I haven't updated this site in almost 5 months, but hey, I'm here now and there is a fair bit going on.

The biggest news is that Sonia and I are expecting our first child at the end of August. Everything is going well so far and we are in the midst of spending a fortune on baby things and getting an extension to the house started (that will include a study for all the music gear to go in of course!). This has changed the new album plans quite considerably given that come August my attention will obviously be elsewhere.

I had a constructive meeting with Paul and Rich at the end of March and we are looking to do a 6 track CD with a tentative completion date around the end of July(ish). The six songs going in at the moment are 'The Heavens Tell', 'Holy, Jesus You Are Holy', 'I Will Praise You', 'Declaration', 'Make Me More Like You' and 'All for Love'. Guide demos are done for all but 'All for Love' (which will be an acoustic track), and Paul has been giving them some treatment to get some ideas flowing. There is even a 'dance mix' of 'I Will Praise You' floating around, but rest assured, that is not a sign of things to come! I'm not sure what will happen with the other songs but hopefully they'll get their chance one day.

An important change is that the new CD will be raising money for Cry in the Dark, a charity we support at Rayleigh Baptist that help orphans and special needs children in Romania. Click here for more details. We have a huge team going out to Romania in July to help on some building work.
